Every month, the Google Ads Research and Insights team digs through data from recent search queries to understand the newest trends in consumer behaviour. Around the globe, the rise in vaccination numbers is corresponding with a rise in socializing, and we’re seeing increased interest in party venues, wedding dresses, and indoor and outdoor activities. See what people are searching for.
As vaccination rollout progresses and restrictions are lifted in certain markets, consumers are looking forward to experiences and events that were halted because of the pandemic. People are planning to celebrate life’s moments together again, searching for “party venues near me,” “invitations,” “wedding dress shops near me,” and “christening.” We also see an increase in searches for both indoor and outdoor activities, like “indoor water park,” “playgrounds near me,” “concerts,” and “skating rink.” Wanting to put their best foot forward for these in-person moments, people are looking for post-pandemic guidance (“how much to tip,” “what shoes to wear with”) and paying more attention to their faces (“sunscreen for face,” “pediatric dentist near me,” and “makeup artist near me”). And, perhaps a sign that men are thinking of ditching beards grown over the last year, one of the biggest search increases we’ve seen is for “no beard filter.”
