Apple’s Look Around and Google’s Streetview are great tools. But, if for whatever reason, it bothers you that an image of your home or property is visible on these tools and you like your privacy, you do have the power to blur the images! It’s easy. Here are the instructions.
Apple Maps
Apple Maps’ process is very easy. Send an email to MapsImageCollection@apple.com with a request to blur your properties image is all it takes.
Google Maps
Google Maps requires a few extra steps
- Find your address in Google Maps
- Click “Report a problem”
- Select the appropriate choices in the “Request Blurring” options.
Click here to see what your blurred image will look like!
Your image will be blurred in Apple in just a couple days, but it takes a bit longer in Google. Be patient.
